EXTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS

Except as expressly permitted or as required for their job, team members should not discuss confidential company plans or matters with any person (including friends, relatives and even other Kotn employees, if the information is confidential to your team).

This policy applies to all employees, including full-time, part-time, temporary, and contract workers, and covers all forms of social media.

This applies to meetings and internal discussions, especially when intended for Kotn team members only.

In addition, Kotn team members are not authorized to discuss Kotn with the media unless they are authorized spokespersons.

SLACK

We love Slack and use it for general communication across all our teams from Egypt to Toronto and Montreal.

Slack is generally more casual than email, but this does not exempt team members from communicating with a suitable level of professionalism and respectfulness. As with all things written vs verbal, we ask team members to take care to convey the appropriate tone in Slack.

  • Professionalism and Respect;
    -Communication Tone: While Slack is generally more casual than email, it does not exempt team members from communicating with a suitable level of professionalism and respectfulness. Team members should take care to convey the appropriate tone in Slack, ensuring that their messages are clear, concise, and courteous.

    -Offensive Content: It is essential to exercise discretion when choosing imagery, memes, or other content shared on Slack. Team members must avoid using or sharing content that is offensive, discriminatory, or violates the company's policies on harassment, discrimination, or code of conduct.

    -Private Communication: Slack conversations are primarily intended for work-related discussions. Personal or sensitive matters should be discussed through appropriate channels, such as direct messages or in-person conversations. -

    -Reporting Inappropriate Content: If a team member comes across offensive or inappropriate content on Slack, they should report it to a member of management or the designated HR representative. The company will investigate such incidents and take appropriate action.

  • Confidentiality and Data Security: Team members must be mindful of sharing confidential or sensitive information on Slack and adhere to the company's policies regarding data protection and security.
